Susanne Brandt is known for her fine art photography. She uses alternative photographic processes for transferring her photographs onto metal, resin and glass. Some of the photographs are then enhanced utilizing metallic paints and artisanal inks. Susanne works primarily with an Infrared converted SLR camera. Infrared photography has a dream like surreal quality as the images seem to glow with a shimmering aura. Her work seeks to capture a compelling moment in time found in cityscapes, street scenes and human emotion. Her goal is to create “visual meditations” in her images. Susanne has been teaching workshops at Silvermine for over ten years. Helping others explore new areas of photography remains her primary joy. She has been exhibiting her work in group and solo exhibitions in CT & NYC for over 25 years. She holds a BFA from Alfred University as well as a masters in Art Education.
