After visually sharing their hopes and dreams in mixed media, the 3rd graders at Dunbar School in Bridgeport had the chance to learn how their words can be a parallel form of expression to their visual art.
Over four days, the children worked with Poet in Residence Adair Heitmann to compose thoughtful “I am” poems which were formally presented with pride to their peers. This “Literacy and Visual Arts” program is just one of Silvermine’s
exemplary programs which we share with neighboring schools in Norwalk and Bridgeport.
