The central focus of my teaching experience is to build a foundation for students in the world of art. This exposure often extends into valuable skills in other professions. I base my approach on strengthening individually unique abilities of expression and artful communication— which each of us possess. I believe that the classic traditions of drawing and sculpture are based upon thought and observation. When these skills are combined with access to personal narratives, imagination, and the power of solid skills in choosing tools, materials and techniques, a meaningful personal expression can flourish. I serve as a guide who draws upon my own rich career as an artist and a teacher. This experience becomes a vessel to all disciplines of problem solving and individual creative insight— in more than just the field of art.
Enthusiastically, I have chosen a profession whereby I can contribute to our contemporary society by developing the talents of learning individuals who will help to form the future we are all invested in.
