Withdrawals and transfers are honored during school office hours, by phone only,  Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Withdrawals made by email are not official.

All studio scheduling is at the discretion of Silvermine Art Center Administrative Staff. Students attending programs at Silvermine Art Center are permitted to utilize the facilities during scheduled program times only and must adhere to the General Studio Policies set forth in the attached document.

• No dogs allowed in the Silvermine Art Center buildings with the exception of service animals.
• Alcohol is not allowed in the studios or any of the buildings on campus.

• Registration Fee: Each term, a $35 non-refundable registration fee is charged. There is no registration fee for one-day or two-day workshops. A registration fee is applied to workshops which are 3 or more days in length.
• Enrollment: For courses to be conducted, a minimum enrollment is required. In addition, there can be a maximum enrollment based on the studio size, equipment and the instructor’s requirements.
• Withdrawals: Withdrawals must be made within office hours Monday – Friday, 9AM – 5PM. Any withdrawals made outside of that time period may be ineligible for a refund or credit.
• Waitlists: We highly recommend students to place themselves on waitlists for any fully enrolled courses or workshops. The School will call waitlisted students in chronological order when/if a seat becomes available.
• Absences & Make-Ups: Make-ups are scheduled in the event of weather cancellations, or other unexpected circumstances. A refund is not available if a student cannot attend an officially scheduled make-up date. Silvermine will not pro-rate any tuition costs for absences. Students who cannot attend a scheduled program may not substitute another person in their place.

The School reserves the right to change its calendar, withdraw or modify courses or workshops and to use substitute instructors, as needed. Classes or workshops cancelled due to bad weather or instructor’s absence will be rescheduled according to studio availability.

• Weather: Please visit our website, silvermine.org for announcements regarding cancellations. The office will send out notifications to students prior to cancellations, delays or make-ups.
• Warning Emails: The School office will send warning emails regarding a course or workshop that may be at risk of cancellation due to low enrollment, prior to cancellation.
• Cancellations: If a course or workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, notice will be given two to three days prior to the start date. A refund or credit will be provided.

Withdrawals and transfers are honored during school office hours, by phone only, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Withdrawal or transfer requests made by email should not be considered finalized.

Refunds

• A refund is a reimbursement to the original form of payment.

Credits

• A Silvermine credit is applied to student accounts in place of a refund and is available for use towards another course, workshop or private lesson.
• Credits are valid for a period of one year from the date it was issued.
• Credits are issued when a withdrawal occurs past the refund deadline.
• Credits can only be used by the student to which it was issued and/or the members included in their family account.

Transfers

• Students may choose to transfer from one program to another in the event their original program is canceled, or if the student is looking for an alternative to a full withdrawal.

Withdrawals taking place after the class confirmation and/or start date of the course that result in the program falling below the minimum requirement for enrollment, are only eligible for a pro-rated credit to their Silvermine account (less the instructor fee). Please see general registration policies for enrollment requirements. Credits and refunds are not available for illness and/or COVID-19 related absences.

Refunds

• Registration fees are non-refundable
• The student must notify the School Office one week (7 calendar days) prior to the scheduled first class meeting date in order to receive a refund for withdrawal.
• No refunds or credits will be given for any reason after the second class meets.

Credits

• When withdrawing from a course less than 7 days prior to the start date, a student can only receive a credit to their Silvermine account.
• Students who register 7 days or less before the start date of a course and withdraw can only receive a credit to their Silvermine account.
• A pro-rated tuition fee will be credited to a student’s account when withdrawing after the start date of the course, only if notification is given to the School Office before the second class meets.
• No refunds or credits will be given for any reason after the second class meets.

Transfers

• For transfers occurring before the start date of the program the original payment may be utilized in full.
• For transfers occurring after the class confirmation and or start date of the course that result in the program falling below the minimum requirement for enrollment, only a prorated portion of the original payment may be applied.

Credits and refunds are not available for illness and/or COVID-19 related withdrawals that occur after the confirmation email has been sent.

Refunds

• A confirmation email is shared three days prior to the start date of any workshop. No refunds or credits are available after this point.
• Refunds can be issued if a student withdraws prior to the delivery of the confirmation email, less any non-refundable registration fee.

Credits

• Students who register 7 days or less before the start date of a workshop and withdraw can only receive a credit to their Silvermine account.
• A confirmation email is shared three days prior to the start date of any workshop. No refunds or credits are available after this point.
• Credits can be issued if a student withdraws prior to the delivery of the confirmation email, less any non-refundable registration fee.

Transfers

• For transfers occurring after the class confirmation that result in the program falling below the minimum requirement for enrollment, only a prorated portion of the original payment may be applied.
• Transfers are not available after the workshop has occurred.

**Raku & Soda Firing Workshops**

• Withdrawals from a Raku or Soda Firing workshop must be made 14 days prior to the workshop start date to receive a refund.
• No reimbursements of any kind will be issued when a withdrawal occurs less than 14 days prior to the start date of the workshop.

Silvermine Arts Center frequently documents classes and exhibitions using photography and/or videos for publicity purposes. These images are used in the digital Course Catalog, social media, Annual Report, and other publicity platforms to benefit the center and further its mission.

Your registration in a class or visitation to the campus grants Silvermine permission to photograph/video you and/or your artwork, and to use these images in all publicity platforms, unless you inform the photographer otherwise.

COVID-19 Assumption of Risk
COVID-19 is highly contagious and declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. People can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease. COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness and even death. The Silvermine Arts Center cannot prevent you (or your family members) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while utilizing the Center’s services or premises. Therefore, if you choose to utilize the Center’s services and/or enter onto Center’s premises you understand, acknowledge and accept the risks that you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

COVID-19 Masking Policy
Masking requirements will be determined by individual instructors. Students enrolled in a program, in which the instructor requires masking to participate, must adhere.
