Viking knitting, one of the oldest known forms of weaving is a technique that preceded traditional knitting by centuries. The Viking knit woven chain is a style based on ancient chains found buried in Viking tombs. With surprisingly few steps, you will fashion a cord style, flexible metal chain, comfortable used for both bracelets and necklaces. This technique creates a versatile rope of chain; it can be thin enough for Pandora beads or chunky and thick for a unisex look. During this workshop, we will weave a substantial woven chain of bracelet or necklace length, explore variations in stitch and learn the basic finishing and findings to complete your work. No experience necessary. Kit fee for materials and tools is payable to instructor at class time.
